Kristen Racaniello is a curator, maker and an historian of visual art and culture. She graduated from Purchase College with a dual BA in art history and a BFA in the fine arts in 2014. She is slated to graduate in 2017 from Hunter College with a Masters in art history.
Although her interests are boundless and growing exponentially with her daily explorations of aesthetics, the world, and culture, she specializes in the socio-political aesthetics and materiality of the Medieval period with a special emphasis on France, Spain, Morocco, and the surrounding Mediterranean areas. This blog focuses in particular on documenting her curatorial exhibitions, and her perspectives on the current life of art objects within New York City, their display, and their impact on the lives of New Yorkers.
